Chris Cornell Carries On

I've been listening to the new Chris Cornell album Carry On. It sucks that Audioslave broke up. I've never been a huge fan of Chris' solo work. He doesn't rock near as much when he's not backed by a hard rock band like Soundgarden. Also, his cover of Billie Jean is horrible!

Music is so subjective. You think Cornell doesn't rock without belonging to a band .... I think he's better off being solo.

"Carry On" is a phenomenal piece of work. Chris is creative enough that he doesn't have to be pigeon-holed into a certain type "sound". This album shows he can be bluesy, ballsy, gospelly, quirky, and downright rock! My favorites are, "She'll Never Be Your Man", "Killing Birds", "Ghosts", and "Disappearing Act".

Now, those choices may change tomorrow.....

That's why I love Chris Cornell solo. He'll never bore you with the same sound.

And that voice ....... (But I'll save that for another day!)

Find out for yourself! Buy "Carry On".

I didn't like Chris's first solo for a while. I was more into the rock than the slower too. But I gave it a chance and I actually like it just as much. As the person above me said, you don't just get the same thing over and over with him. I'm learning to love that. Buy "Carry On" because it really is a great CD.

Carry On is growing on me, don't get me wrong. But, I would rather have had a new Audioslave album than this. Audioslave put out 3 phenomenal albums. In my opinion this just isn't as good.

Thanks for the comments!

I had a hard time with the new cd at first also. Very different from the past but now I really love it and love the new direction. There are at least 5 good songs on there. I think that he is basically trying to showcase his voice.
