Four Years Of Podcasting

This may seem a little silly to everyone else, but it's a really cool thing to me. Four years ago Alana and I started podcasting with Animal Crossing Friends episode 1. A lot has happened in that time, believe me, and it's been great to have this constant connection with my sister all the while. I really feel like doing the podcast has helped us remain close since we've been adults. It's a fun thing we share, and something I cherish. Whether we get together once a month or once a week, it's always great to get on the mic and do what we do best. Make each other laugh.

Yea, I think getting older is making me more sentimental. What, you wanna fight about it!?

So Much To Say

Man, where to begin. Do I bitch about the annoying people that I come across every day? Do I talk about the podcast? Do I just rant about miscellaneous stuff, like why miscellaneous is so hard to spell? How about all of the above!

So, what is it with people that just blindly do what they're told? I don't understand. If you know that what you're being told to do is A)wrong or B)stupid or C)coming from someone who isn't qualified to manage his own Mountain Dew intake. What drives me insane is people that don't even question shit. I'm sorry, but I'm an adult (supposedly) and I can make my own decisions. If you're telling me to do something that's obviously retarded, I'm going to do what I know needs to be done. Of course, the person I'm talking about is extremely religious, so I think that pretty much explains the whole thing. Personally, I think Jesus would want the ad to get done.

Anyway, we got episode 60 of the podcast done on Friday. We gave away a copy of City Folk and touched on our initial impressions. And Val Kilmer. Funny shit, go listen.



So, what is the deal with miscellaneous? Why does it have to be so long? And what's up with the two l's? I mean, how crazy is that? And the eous? That doesn't get confusing at all!

Excitement Is Building!

Yesterday was pretty cool. Aside from the fact that I had to work overnight, everything else was awesome. I can't talk about all of it here because it's personal. I'm sure you're asking yourself, "then why have a blog if you're not going to spill the beans?", to which I answer "suck it!"

Anyway, the giveaway we're doing is going well. Quite a few entries have already come in, and we're only on day 3. I also got an e-mail from someone at Nintendo PR. They're going to send me an early copy of the game for review. You know, since I'm cool. I've never had that happen before, so I'm really excited.

I'm still hoping that NintendoWiiFanboy picks up the story so we can get that coverage. Our buddies at Platform Nation have graciously allowed me to post a story about the giveaway. I know it's not that big a deal for a podcast to give away a game, but it's a first for us, so back off willya!

Speed Racer And The Contest

We watched Speed Racer this weekend. Well, I watched it and Rhea fell asleep. Then I had a seizure and went to bed.

Now, I didn't hate the movie. The action and CGI were impressive. The fight scenes and other parts were pretty atrocious. Especially when they focused on Spritle and Chim Chim.

Honestly, I'm not sure how so many people can work on a movie and not realize it's going to be bad. But, like I said, the racing was pretty sweet. Not believable at all, but sweet.

Also, on the show, we're giving away a copy of the new Animal Crossing: City Folk game. You have to take a listen to the show and find out how to enter. It's a pretty funny episode if I do say so myself.

It's Been A While

I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. I haven't been that busy, so it just doesn't make sense. Actually, each time I've thought of posting I just didn't have anything I was itching to say. Now, the itch in my crotch is a different story. Hehe.

Anyway, we didn't get any hours at Kohl's this week, so it's been kind of a vacation. We've watched some Netflix movies (Semi-Pro, Juno, and Batman), and cleaned house. Our anniversary is coming up on the 19th. 3 years! Feels like 30. lol!

Alana and I recorded episode 53 of ACFriends. We might be recording episode 54 this weekend if everything works out. The forums have been busy thanks to Hacker and his trivia. We've been doing the show for over 2 years now. It's amazing to me that we've amassed a fan base and so much history. Now if I could just remember Alana's town name!

It looks like my old buddy GLewis is posting news on the GameTalk site. I'll have to add it to the sites I visit regularly. Africansk8er also redesigned the ACFriends site. It looks flippin' sweet! Speaking of sites, I've been cruising PS3 Fanboy a lot lately. Wonder why? Cuz I got a PS3 last week. Wal-Mart had a deal where you got $100 gift card when you bought one. I had some birthday money left over, plus some stimulus money equals 40 gig PS3. Woot!

I have to say I'm really impressed with it so far. I got my HDMI cable this week. 1080p is fucking awesome. I have my 360 running at 720p through component. I really can't tell the difference, but the demos I've played on the PS3 so far have been gorgeous.

Podcastination

Another week in the can. I think I did better on my route today. I could have been done earlier if mail count wasn't going on. Oh well.

I actually had time to guest on this week's Post Game Report with my old buddy JVB and his co-host Finster. Peterocc from GTR was also a guest. It turned out really well, thanks in part to JVB's sweet hosting skills. They go with his nunchuck sills very nicely. I had several funny lines, which is what I always shoot for.

I had the idea at work today to put together a promo for ACFriends. On the last show, we did an impromptu parody of the Portal song. Not like everything we do isn't impromptu, but still!

Happy New Year

Well, it's officially the new year. It's been busy around here, but I'll try to bring everyone up to speed.

Alana's birthday was Dec 27th. We went to Winstar on Sunday to celebrate. At first we hit the nickel and penny slots. Then I finally found the high stakes slots. And by high stakes I mean $1 to $25 slots.

At first I won $30. That brought me up to $50. Then I played some more and lost the $30. Then I lost the rest of it! Sucks to be me. But, fortunately my Dad was playing a Hotter N' Hell slot game and won $1000!

Anyway, we recorded episode 50 of ACFriends the other day. It's pretty hilarious. It's kinda crazy how we've made it to 50 shows. It's been 2 years since we started the show and I still get e-mails from new people who have just found it.

Xbox Live hasn't been working for the last 2 weeks. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't washed the memory card that had my profile on it! I came home yesterday from Alana's and forgot to take my card out of my pocket. I tossed them in the wash. I realized it a few minutes later, but it was too late. I'm hoping it will dry and work again, but I don't want to try it until I know it's dry. Until then I've been trying to recover my gamertag from XBL. Of course, that's one of the things that isn't working right now. Fucking fabulous. It's not helping my gamerscore challenge, that's for sure!

Hell of a Week

Haven't posted anything in a few days. Been busy with work. Stressed out. I had to walk somebody this week, which sucks. But, if you can't figure it out after this long, you're not going to.

Rhea and I went to Texas Road House for our anniversary on Tuesday. It was really good. The beers were huge and cheap. My favorite kind!


Africansk8er continues to wow us with his work on the ACFriends site. he worked up some promotional images for everyone to use. Very cool stuff.


My sister and I have gotten into lolcats recently. I've always seen them around, but I never paid the a whole lot of attention. Now I can't get enough!

Father's Day

It's Father's Day. I went to the parents house and played with the new dogs. I took pictures, which are on my flickr. Buffy got a haircut and I gave Buttercup a bath.

The fans recorded an episode of ACFriends today. I posted it a few minutes ago. This is the second one they've done. I'm hoping they can continue to do them. I think it's a cool thing to do for the our loyal listeners.

I downloaded a few things yesterday. The new Queens of the Stone Age album. Gonna listen to it tomorrow. Then I got this cool song off X3F, Ring of Fire.

Rhea got me an awesome watch with a spider on the face. Then you hit a button and the webbing lights up. It's a Fossil and it rocks! She also got me some cool boxers and a picture frame. The picture in it is of Ethan and I. I love it!
